Shannon, I've been reading your blog for the last day or two (I didn't even realize you had one - sorry :( and I must tell you the I enjoy it immensely! The manner in which you write is delightful and I find myself continually going, "uh huh, I remember that!", "I remember feeling that way!" or "I remember the same thing happening to me!" (I'm only 1/8 of the way through your trip to Paris and I'm enjoying every minute.). Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the world and don't feel down about being back home.
I know I feel enormous sadness every time I have to leave France, but then I say to myself, thank heavens I've found A Passion! Thank heavens I've found a place, a culture and people that make me feel so alive and awaken my soul! Becoming a French teacher 11 years ago was a fruit of that passion. Imagine the thousands and probably millions of people who carry on with that "dead" feeling, as you said, and never find their passion in life. We are the fortunate ones!! So chin up! You'll be back, again and again! :)
